CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP
In early December, The Garden Workers gather to make holiday wreaths and centerpieces for Saunders House, The Mansion at Rosemont, and Ronald McDonald house.
PHYSIC GARDEN
In 1976, the planting of this garden at Pennsylvania Hospital was the bicentennial project of the Philadelphia Committee of the Garden Club of America and the Friends of Pennsylvania Hospital. It contains plants and herbs used for medicines in the 18th century. The PCGCA continues to maintain the garden to this day. Original plans were designed by Martha Ludes Garra.
SHARPE PARK
Since 1979, Garden Workers have partnered with Lower Merion Township to help maintain and enhance Sharpe Park and Bird Sanctuary. This 2.7-acre property is located in Haverford, PA and was gifted to the township by Garden Workers member Catherine Dixon Sharpe in 1963.
MAGNOLIA TRIBUTE GARDEN
The Magnolia Tribute Garden, on the south side of Locust between 4th and 5th Streets in Philadelphia, was donated by the Garden Club of America in honor of the founders of our nation and dedicated in May 1959. Yearly, The Garden Workers contribute to the maintenance of the garden.
RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
The Garden Workers donate time and talent making wreaths and flower arrangements for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House twice a year.
WOODFORD MANSION
For many years, Garden Workers have decorated Woodford Mansion in Farimount Park for the Very Philly Christmas holiday tour. Each year there is a different theme and the club is responsible for decorating the front entrance, living room and most recently, the dining room.
